DESCRIPTION: APW - Hamilton, Grade 3992B, World War II era Navigation Master Watch made for British military use, 22J, 16S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with Ministry of Defence (English spelling) pheon (broad arrow) to rear as well as Hydrographic Services (HS3) contract markings which have been lightly overscored, "MFR'S PART NO.3992B" marking at center has been overscored with a numerical code having been added above, white enamel dial with pheon and Hamilton marking, SW-hack-set with sweep-seconds, fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, mvt marked "U.S. Navy Bu. Ships" as well as with British pheon, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#3C709.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some micro-fine scratches to sweep-seconds bridge, few minimal small micro-fine scratches elsewhere; dial with hl from edge at 5:30 extending through right side of "Hamilton;" nearly mint hands; case shows very little wear, scattered fine scratches and some abrasions to rear, two small file marks to upper edge of rear below pendant area, no dents or dings, excellent contract marking detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; plastic crystal with scattered fine scratches.
